Oakland Art Murmur

Administrator of a very special non-profit arts organization whose work drew us to establish new lives in Oakland.
Oakland Art Murmur began as an acknowledgment by eight arts spaces located in the Northgate and Temescal neighborhoods that a cooperative effort to promote the arts in the region would garner more attention for their individual visual art programs through the vehicle of a collective First Friday Art Walk. The gallery walk and corresponding organization grew over the years; and, during my tenure, Oakland Art Murmur became a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that included over forty galleries and mixed-use art spaces throughout the City of Oakland and offered unique programing above and beyond the incredibly popular First Friday gallery festivities.
As director, I was responsible for overseeing many of the day-to-day operations of the Oakland Art Murmur organization. This position served the Board of Directors and was the main point of contact for the gallery members, the organization’s webmaster and designer, and was often the first point of contact for the general public and the press. It was both a pleasure and a privilege to serve OAM, and I look forward to continuing to be a part of the community!
